Saltgrain
A direct-to-door storefront for a micro-bakery.
Self-initiated concept project, not client work. The results below are the targets it was designed against, not measured figures.

What made it hard
A bakery sells out daily and bakes to order, so a normal storefront lies. Stock, collection windows and delivery zones all change by the hour, and a shopper who finds out at checkout does not come back.
How it works
Availability is the first thing the page resolves, not the last. The storefront asks for a postcode and a date up front, then only ever shows what can genuinely arrive, so the basket cannot hold something the oven will not make.
- Next.js
- TypeScript
- Shopify
- Stripe
- Tailwind
- Vercel
- No unavailable product ever reaching the basket
- Checkout completable in under sixty seconds on a phone
- Collection and delivery rules editable by the baker, not a developer
